Environment, Ecosystem and Forestry Expert
Mr. Laxmi Dutta Bhatta is a decorated professional with more than two decades of experience in the environment, climate, ecosystem, and forestry sector contributing to a plethora of leadership, policymaker, counseling, and training roles.
With a rich experience in multi-stakeholders and multicultural working settings, he has a wealth of experience in managing multi-country projects, with a particular focus on ecosystem management, nature and human interface, incentive for ecosystem services (PES), ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), biodiversity, and livelihood interface.
He has worked as an expert in multiple countries, including in countries in transition and conflict such as Myanmar, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Singapore, and China. He has also worked on short-term assignments in Vietnam, Cambodia, Lao PDR. As a trainer and expert, Mr. Bhatta has managed and organized a number of national and international conferences, symposiums and workshops.
He has published numerous journal articles, book chapters, working papers, and policy/issue briefs. He is also a visiting lecturer in various educational institutions teaching BSc, and MSc students (Mountain Env, Env science), BSc, and MSc research thesis/dissertation.
He has a proven track record in driving innovations and engaging stakeholders effectively at all levels. He has served in diverse roles (manager, specialist, advisory) contributing to SDGs.
