Biography

Mr. Basnet is a highly regarded development consultant and master trainer with over 30 years of experience in the development sector. His extensive involvement across diverse fields has enabled him to design and deliver impactful programs that benefit both rural and urban communities as well as institutions.

His areas of expertise include community research, public relations, project management, organizational development, motivational speaking, and proposal and report writing. Over the past decade, he has focused on child-friendly learning, motivation for students and teachers, parental skills, and psychosocial counseling, training thousands of teachers in public and private schools based on the UNICEF model.

Most of his professional career was spent with PLAN Nepal, where he worked across 68 districts of Nepal, gaining deep insights into community needs and development dynamics. He also served with the Nepal Participatory Action Network (NEPAN) and has collaborated with several national and international organizations to strengthen community-based initiatives.

Mr. Basnet has conducted numerous training programs on child protection policies, gender, PRA, people-centered development, proposal writing, and project management. His notable contributions include facilitating the Integrated Leadership Development Program (ILDP), Appreciative Inquiry for Karuna Management on behalf of Plan Nepal, and a 10-day Better Life Options Program for adolescents in India. He has also delivered sessions in Bangladesh, India, and several African countries, sharing his expertise globally.
