Biography

Dr. Subodh Kumar Pokharel is a senior sexologist and specialist in sexual health based in Kathmandu, Nepal, with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, counseling, public education, and treatment related to human sexuality and reproductive health. He is widely recognized for his pioneering work in sexual health education and counseling services in Nepal.

He is the founder of the Nepal Institute of Human Sexuality (NIOHS), an institution dedicated to education, research, and training in human sexuality. Through NIOHS, Dr. Pokharel has advanced structured programs that promote awareness, professional development, and evidence-based practice in sexual health across Nepal and the region.

Dr. Pokharel also founded and practices at Mata Manakamana Arogya Clinic in Putalisadak, Kathmandu, which provides sexual health services and counseling to individuals and couples. As an author of multiple books on sexual health and human relationships, he has made significant contributions to public understanding of sexual psychology and reproductive wellness.
